What is your question?
The car only overheats in the summer, while idling. Even idling in a drive thru will cause it to overheat. It’s had extensive repairs under the hood such as new battery, new fan, new thermostat, and new circuit board. Some mechanics say it must be a blown head gasket because I had a coolant leak and overheating issues about a month ago. The dealership said the overheating and loss of coolant was from a stuck thermostat. Before I had the fan and thermostat replaced, it was making gurgling noises when I would turn the car off. It also makes a loud click noise when I would slow down to a certain speed. The clicking felt like it was right under my feet. The car also blew cold air out of the heater once.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It’s better when I’m in full motion or the car is off and worse when I’m idling.
How long has your 2014 Chevrolet Sonic had this problem?
About a year.

Mysterious overheating that conventional repair methods do not correct is usually an internal engine problem. A combination leak test should have already taken place.. Unfortunately here online we can’t put hands on the vehicle for the required testing to discover the actual culprit.. About all we can offer is > GOOD LUCK!
