Occurred twice before when I pulled the key too soon and I was able to wiggle it back into lock and use it. It isn't responding will WD-40 sprayed into the ignition switch help. I don't rally want to change out the ignition switch.
What makes this problem better or worse?
The battery is now dead as it wasn't discovered until the accessories ran the battery dead.
How long has your 1999 Lexus RX300 had this problem?

Well you can certainly try some WD-40 to see if it helps .. Usually this is caused by the shift lock solenoid preventing the key from being turned completely to OFF .. Shifting into park a little more forcefully may help .. Otherwise recommend seeking **hands-on** assistance from qualified personnel.
