My emission light came on shortly after an oil change on my 2006 ford expedition

When I drive, it seems to stall/drag, almost like it is stuck in a gear. Then it will pick up the speed. Im worried...don't know what to do? Is this a fatal problem, or is this something that can be corrected? I purchased a gas treatment, only use 1 gas station now......
