Question Answered: My car keeping cutting off...first started at stop lights but now happening more
April 16, 2015, 01:21 PM
Too many variables and guessing is too expensive. Hello, We are happy to help you with a diagnosis, but with this vehicle you certainly need Dealer level diagnosis equipment in which we have. We would need to scan the engine controller to monitor the data streams and determine the cause of the stalling. It could be many, many different component failures, or a minor vacuum leak problem. If you would like us to help, or if you have any questions please feel free to give us a call Sincerely, Your Curt's Service Team 248-545-0500
Question Answered: I have taken my car to shop that repaired the MAF sensor and IAC motor. Car continues to stall when I start and give gas. What else could the problem be?
April 13, 2015, 05:44 AM
There are so many things and combinations of items that can cause a vehicle to not run properly. This is why it is critical to have a proper diagnosis prior to replacing parts. We would be happy to help assist you with diagnosing and offering a 2 year 24,000 mile Nation Wide warranty on any and all repairs performed. Please feel free to give us a call. Sincerely, Your Curt's Service Team 248-545-0500
Question Answered: Steering noise
April 07, 2015, 09:00 AM
This noise could be coming from a mechanical rubbing noise, or from the power steering system, or even the linkage. If you would like to come by for a courtesy Pit-Stop inspection we could better advise you what the source of the noise and if there is any attention needed. Sincerely, Your Curt's Service Team 248-545-0500
Question Answered: No light
March 31, 2015, 07:24 AM
Sounds like it could be a connection issue at the back of the instrument cluster, or possibly a bulb issue. Removal of the instrument cluster may be needed, but would be best to start with checking powers and grounds. We would be more than happy to inspect and advise of what is needed. Sincerely Your Curt's Service Team 248-545-0500
Question Answered: Unable to turn headlights off
March 03, 2015, 06:06 AM
This lighting circuit is controlled by switches, relays and modules. Any of them could cause the lights to stay on. I would recommend to have diagnosed by a qualified repair shop to prevent replacing anything un-necessary. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions. Your Curt's Service Team 248-545-0500
Question Answered: Engine Hot AC Off indicator is on. What does it mean and can I still drive Auto
February 07, 2015, 01:17 PM
Hello, This is an indication that the PCM (engine computer) is recognizing that the engine is running too hot and or the electric cooling fan is not operational. Thus it shuts down the A/C to lower the load and not create extra heat. I would recommend to verify that the coolant level is full, if low add and get to a shop that has the proper diagnostic tools to scan the engine controller and determine the problem. Some possibilities could be, leak in system and low coolant causing overheating, fan inoperative, bad temp sensor reporting false data, bad connection or wiring concern to be a few. We would be happy to further help as needed. Please feel free to give us a call. Your Curt's Service Team 248-545-0500
Question Answered: Tractio active and abs lights are on and now the vehicle is losing the speed
November 25, 2014, 07:18 AM
This sounds like a wheel speed sensor problem, your vehicle has one at each wheel, if the signals differ too much from one another it thinks that you are slipping on ice (traction control), this will with the electronic throttle reduce power regardless of how much you push on the accelerator. The diagnostic process for this would be to have an equipped facility with factory scan tools to drive the vehicle and determine if this is the case. We would be happy to assist. Please let us know if you have any questions. Your Curt's Service Team 248-545-0500
Question Answered: This morning a red light came on and says low battery
November 11, 2014, 10:26 AM
I'm afraid that I would have to agree with the previous person. It would be best to tow your vehicle to a Bosch Car Service center, or other equivalent Mercedes specialist. The battery warning may have been from the system not charging if the drive belt was compromised, but this generally should not cause the oil leakage mentioned. You need someone knowledgeable to check it out so that further damage is not done. Also for reference with the battery your vehicle has two, a small auxiliary battery as well as a larger battery. It is best to isolate, test and service individually as needed. Please feel free to give us a call if you need further assistance. Your Curt's Service Team 248-545-0500 info@CurtsService.com
Question Answered: abs brake light come on anti skid light esplight come on can''t shift to drive
October 06, 2014, 08:00 AM
The ABS and Anti Skid lamps should not cause your vehicle to not be able to shift into drive, if this is what is going on it may be an input from the brake switch or something BCM (Body control module) related that is preventing. See if you have brake lights with the KOEO, if not this is likely what needs to be repaired. If you can still not get out of park and is a center counsel shift there is usually a bypass slot to release so that you can drive the vehicle in for service. BE CAREFUL doing so as you may not have brake lamps. If you have any further questions or would like to schedule an appointment please call. -Your Curt's Service Team, 248-545-0500
Question Answered: Back up lights don't come on
October 06, 2014, 07:51 AM
This vehicle has lighting that is controlled by the BCM body control module, could be related to a sensor commanding the reverse lights, or a voltage, bulb or wiring condition. If you check the bulbs, contacts and fuse (which does all of the lighting in the rear) that will probably be all that you can check without diagnostic equipment. Please feel free to give us a call for an appointment or any further questions. Your Curt's Service Team 248-545-0500
