What is your question?
The car drags whenever I releases the accelerator to slow down without stepping on the brakes. It's like making an engine brake when it is supposed to slow down smoothly without stepping on the brakes.

May have a frozen brake caliper. The cylinder in the caliper may have failed and is not retracting or the same for the slider pins. Need to inspect rotors and look for damage. If you find one that is excessively worn compared to the other, you have found the one to test for retractability. I wonder if retractability is an actual word....Hmmm!
While driving, let off gas and shift trans to neutral... Same thing... OR ...does it roll freely then??
What you doing up this time of morning...well whatever time it is...lol.. Ain't set the clocks yet!! .......... This is either brakes or a trans malfunction!
I am at work on midnight shift.....midnight shift sucks!!! LOL! 4:30am here.
I gotcha!!... Same time here by the clock.... I'm usually having a cup of coffee bout now... Heck with the clock!! The neighbors roosters will let me know what time it is!!!... Can hear'em a 1/4 mile away!
Probably hear the cars of some of the people on this website from that far away too!! LOL!
Well, it doesn't act that way whenever I shift it to neutral before slowing down.
Ok, in that case I figure it's a transmission problem but will have to be checked out hands-on and test driven by a good mechanic to diagnose the trouble!... Sorry for the non-related bs, we get carried away sometimes...
It's ok. I understand. Thanks.
Thanks and good luck with this!... Hopefully it's something simple and could very well be!
I spoke with 2 mechanics who test drive my car and according to them, the problem is with the differential. The other one suggested that I can try changing the differential gear oil and see if anything improves while the other told me that the differential needs to be opened and that there might be some parts that need to undergo with a Machine shop and that it would cost a lot. What do you think about such suggestions?
IF it were the diff... shifting to neutral would NOT make any difference!!.. However we can't argue with a mechanic that can actually test drive the vehicle!!!.. As long as it 'fixes' your trouble.. Go for it!
Thanks. Will consider those possibilities.
