Most likely suspect is the blower motor resistor located behind glove box. Tough to get at even after dropping box down, may want to have it replaced. Bet that is your problem though.
Thank you kindly, I can hear a light "clicking" noise from that area when I engage the third speed of the fan. An unrelated question, why does Ford put a 20 lb cap on a cooling system with a two (plastic) piece glued together thermostat housing? And its well known the bottom radiator tank (plastic) gives it up aswell. Does anyone make a HD radiator for the 4.0 V6? I ordered my truck with the tow package and I feel Ford missed the mark on engineering an adequate long lived cooling system.
Could not agree more! All makes are like this nowadays. I don't know of a HD radiator but i bet you can get one. Google it or maybe someone else can help.
