MESSAGE SAYS "KEY IN IGNITION" EVEN THOUGH KEY IS NOT, AND CHIME STAYS ON.
What is your question?
ONCE THE DOOR IS CLOSED THE CHIME STOPS. SERVICE ADVISOR SAYS THE PIECE INSIDE THE STEERING COLUMN IS BROKEN AND WILL NOT RETRACT. IT WILL COST $1,400 FOR THE PART.
RepairPal Certified shops can diagnose and repair your 2011 Dodge Nitro. They provide transparent pricing with a minimum 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on repairs and services.
Well, IF it were 'my' vehicle, I'd just continue driving that puppy as is ! .. Can always get another opinion from a shop that can put 'hands on' the vehicle for testing/diagnosis.
I will try to find someone that knows which wires to disconnect to stop the chime. In the interim, I will continue to drive it as is. Thanks!
