Perhaps the cat wasn’t bad after all... We’ll need the trouble code numbers... Light on - should have codes stored.
Could be a problem with oxygen sensors or possibly an air mass sensor. The faults will certainly point the technician in the right direction, but be sure not to start replacing parts without a full understanding of the system and what's actually causing the problem.
Toyota Has common Problem with Mass Air Flow & air fuel Ratio ,Try Read Fuel trim Short trim ,I Recommend check Fuel Pressure should be 36 to 44 Psi good luck
It’s rather unusual for catalytic converters to become “plugged” on these vehicles - it was a problem some years ago - mostly with domestic vehicles.. However It IS common for the catalyst to become depleted and is no longer functioning effectively which will induce trouble code PO420 - that isn’t what’s causing your “bogging down” concern. I strongly suspect there is another problem causing lack of power from the engine.. The only way to discover that problem is via *hands-on* testing by qualified personnel. (Without having the code here numbers it’s merely a guessing game!) Good luck!
