I have an 04 explorer xlt that needs a new motor. I have an 02 sport trac same size 4.0L engine but I need to know if they are interchangeable before I start tearing the engines out
If the sport trac is a 4.0 Sohc u should be good to go I replace 20 if this And it wasn't really fun Good luck!
So pretty much I just gotta find out if the sport trac engine is an SOHC as well. Ok thank you everyone I appreciate it
Lol let me clarify everything so people don't think I'm nuts or ignorant. My father has a friend who has a running sport trac but the interior is shot in it. All I know about the sport trac is that it is a 4.0L v6 engine like mine on my xlt explorer and he said I could take the motor if it mounts up to my explorer. Mine is an SOHC but I haven't been to talk to him yet today to see if his is a SOHC or double check the VIN to mine. Sorry for any misunderstanding. I see what your saying now that I reread what you said. Ok so they are both SOHC according to what you tell me so I should just double check the VIN right?
the xlt is a SOHC and idk if the sport trac is or not
