For the past few weeks I have noticed that my 2011 Jeep Compass Latitude has developed a loud rattling noise from somewhere under the hood when accelerating. It doesn't happen all the time and I am still trying to track down if there is any real pattern when it happens. So far I have noticed it happen when I try to accelerate on on-ramps that are slightly downhill, when I accelerate slightly while going around a bend, trying to accelerate in stop and go traffic, or when I take my foot off the gas to have the car decelerate without braking and then accelerating again. The noise stops immediately when I take my foot off the gas and sometimes it will start again when I accelerate again, sometimes it doesn't, especially if I keep my foot off of the gas for about 3 seconds before accelerating again.
