I think my alternator is making rattling nosie

There is a rattling noise coming from my engine and when you open up the hood the noise sounds like it’s coming from the alternator kind of like a rattle noise. Noise tends to fade when you’re driving only when you’re at an idol you can hear the engine idle plus a rattle by the alternator.? What could this be?
