I have a 2005 honda element that wont start no ilumination lights not no hadligh

my 2005 element wont start no ilumination lights when you turn the sitch on every thing gos dad, but with the battery jumper lights goes on and car starts but when i turned off it dies again, how to fix this problem please.thank you, can some one help?
