I have a 2000 Taurus. The cruise light comes on, but the cruise will not engage.

Okay, thank you. do not have the time to scan it today but will have it done & will let you know. thanks again. i did some checking under the hood just now & found a cable that was disconnected on the accelerator linkage. I hooked it up & the cruise now works. the abs light is still on, but I noticed a growling noise in the right front. I'm guessing a wheel bearing is bad. Will take care of it this weekend & hopefully the abs light goes out.
