What is your question?
Car was not driven for approx. 5 months. Started it up; no problem. During idling approx. a couple minutes; the engine began to rev up and then down, between 1K - 2K; in which I turned the engine of. Repeated starting the engine again and after a minute or so; the reving started again. Parking brake was on, trans on Park. I tried to step on the accelerator but it appears to be 'stuck' despite the engine reving. Turned it off. Therefore, what is the problem and how do I resolve? Thank you.

Try removing the air intake boot at the throttle body, I wonder if because the car sat idle for so long that the dissimilar metal, throttle butterfly (brass) and throttle housing aluminum may have corroded, try cleaning the butterfly with Chemtool. Next ensure the coolant level is OK, Honda's low in coolant get surging idle problems. If the throttle was in the past incorrectly adjusted the butterfly sticks in the housing as well.
Hi Patrick and thanks for your reply. It sounds from you that a stuck throttle valve or butterfly is the culprit. As for the coolant is full as per the recovery tank. The intake boot removal is at the end closest to the rear of the engine bay right? And not at the air filter housing. Is the metal clip at that end of the air intake boot reusable? Am I able to reach and push the butterfly and physically clean and spray with the Chemtool cleaner? Also, I would think NOT to use carb cleaner, due to the lubricant or oil in it that may interfere and coat the sensors? Will this cleaning and physically moving the butterfly allow the accelerator pedal to be free also? Because the accel. pedal feels really stuck, even after applying some mild force. Hopefully, this will free up the gas pedal also. Thank you Patrick.
