You'll need a trigger tool, such as a Kent-Moore EL-50448, in order to program the TPMS sensors along with the scan tool. Typically, you'll access the BCM work support functions with the scan tool, go under "ID registration," erase the old ID's, then initialize the TPMS sensors using the trigger tool placed at the tire near the valve in this order: left front, right front, right rear, left rear. The hazard lights should flash when the TPMS sensor is activated at each wheel. Go to data monitor for the TPMS system and each sensor should state "done" if it's registered, or "yet" if it is not. If the hazard lights don't flash at one of the wheels but does at the others, there is a problem with that particular sensor and the programming won't complete. There is another method without the trigger tool, but it's more of a pain in the tail, Go through the same procedure with the scan tool, adjust the tire pressures as follows: Left front-36 psi, rt front-33 psi, rt rear-30 psi and left rear-27 psi. Jump the pins in the TPMS test connector under the driver's side of the dash, toward the right. The connector will usually be taped to the harness. Drive about 10-20 miles until the ID location is learned. Note: if you purchased TPMS sensors that ship in sleep mode, then you will still need the trigger tool to "wake-up" the sensors. Try www.alldatadiy.com to see the procedure of resetting the TPMS on that vehicle once you open the reset with the scan tool.
