What is your question?

ticking/tapping noise when started up, subsides slightly after warm up but still quite loud.....no loss of performance or acceleration noticed....just had oil change 12/2018 and have driven only about 500 miles.....oil level is OK and is clean

What makes this problem better or worse?

It's worse when the engine is cold

How long has your 2014 Kia Soul had this problem?

Why suspect flex plate (flywheel) is the culprit?

Highly recommend removing serpentine drive belt - temporarily start engine to see if noise still there..
