What is your question?
The heat continually blows out of vents in the dash no matter what position we turn the switch to . Our feet freeze while our faces burn up. And we cant keep windshield clear without defrost on.

Have you had this diagnosed and sure the control is the issue? the control takes less than an hour, but what about the mode doors or actuators?
scan computors for codes b4 guessing or get a diag
They never want to do that. They just figure out what is wrong and work on it. I don't even know if they have a computer to diagnose it with. They never put our jeep in it when we take it up there.
No we just figured that it was the switch because it won't change from da a h to the defrost or floor. The dodge place here aaid I t was an 8 hour job and they had to take dash completely out to fix it.
To fix the switch or to fix the issue.
If they had to r & r the switch it would take 8 hrs
Sorry but it only calls for 4.9 hours to pull the dash and heater box then put it back together. I have replaced several heater controls in less then an hour and didn't pull the dash. Sounds like they are going to cover their ass and fix the real problem in the heater box. IMO. BTW. The temp door actuator or door is more then likely your issue.
What do you mean the real problem? Do you think it is something completely different. We have been screwed over by dodge here before and really don't need it again. If they put it on the computer would it tell them what is wrong? I believe we are going to use you as a reference when we talk to them because we had no idea it might be something else. But they should be able to tell before they r & r the switch. If it is the other things how long should it take to do them.
You can monitor the movement of the actuators and the control head signals. If it is staying on heat, the temp/blend door is not closing the heat off and staying on heat. It is the door that changes the air control from the A/C to the heater. When you get too cold or too hot, you move the dial to either add heat or to add cool air for comfort. I don't know if it will do any good for me to talk to them, they will do want they want and they do get away with it. The Temp control panel calls for a 1/2 hour to R/R.
I wasn't going to have you talk to them just mention what you said. And you are right they will do what they want. But the switch im talking about is the one that changes from foor to dash to defrost. The switch that changes temperature works ok. Its just the control that changes where heat or air is blowing out of. Is that the same thing.
That would be the mode door actuator, and there is 2 of them on the top back of the heater box and that calls for 4.9hrs to R/R, and yes the dash has to be pulled. Looks like they will be getting an extra 3hrs for the job at what $100.00 or more an hour, at least #300.00 extra.
