High mount third brake light

In the state of Virginia as for brake and tail lights - as long as the light emitted to the rear of the vehicle is RED in color - that is acceptable for the VA - state inspection requirements. Requirements will vary from state to state. Don't know where you are!

that's the way it comes from the factory,clear lens with red led light inside. as long as when you push the brake pedal and it is red,then it will pass. sounds like where ever you took it to is maybe their first day on the job.they go to school for this and should know!
