Hello, sounds like the engine timing is off. This should be inspected. Was the work done by a trained technician at a reputable repair shop?
IF this problem occurred immediately following timing belt replacement - considering it’s proximity - the most likely suspect is a damaged crankshaft angle sensor - or the wiring to the sensor.. Another common problem with the 3.5L V/6 is an improperly installed crankshaft pulley after it has been removed - as in timing belt replacement .. This sparked quite a controversy amongst owners and Kia is being held responsible. I have personally witnessed and repaired this problem after the fact and found the original crankshaft pulley retaining bolt had been re-used each time - plus, in most cases, the bolt was - we’ll mistakenly under torqued - that combination is a serious mistake! Furthermore - this issue is usually accompanied by a strange rattling noise from engine just prior to failure .. In a few of these cases the timing belt replacement was actually performed by an automobile repair facility and wasn’t a DIYer’s mistake. https://repairpal.com/revised-crankshaft-pulley-bolt-422 Good luck!
