2005 Ford Explorer Fuel pump

What is your question?

I have a 2005 Explorer XLT. I am replacing the fuel pump, but the wiring connectors are different.... factory pump has 1 electric connector, new pump has 2. Were the pumps changed at some point?

Are you using a genuine Ford part for your replacement pump? If not, I would suspect that the part is not proper for the application.

I think you’re jumping to conclusions here - wait until you have completely removed the pump module - - I think you’ll find one wire connector hooks directly to the pump and the other lead with the connector is for fuel level sender.
