What is your question?
i HAVE F-150 5.4L TRITON XLT. MY QUESTION IS WHEN I START MY ENGINE IS LIKELY ROUGH SOUND AND JUST LIKE A DIESEL ENGINE. I AM JUST WONDERING WHY! THIS IS NOT WHAT I HEAR BEFORE SMOOTH START WHILE RUNNING. EVEN WHEN I DO ACCELERATE TO SPEED UP AND HEARING THE ROUGH SOUND. WHAT IS THE REASON AND BEST WAY TO KNOW TO PREVENT MORE DAMAGE ON MY ENGINE?

Highly recommend having this evaluated by qualified personnel than can hear this sound first hand .. It is very possible the timing chains may be the culprit however that is an online guess. Experienced mechanic should be capable of determining by 'listening'..
The cam chain phasers might be at fault. This takes a trained Ford experienced ear to listen to and assess.
