Removed relay(R3) and jumped 30 and 87 fan runs. Did the same on (R4) fan runs. Replaced fan resistor. Checked every fuse in the car. Temp gauge at normal cold engine position and moves up to midway position as engine heats up. Car is sitting in direct sunlight. It was 103°F yesterday and the cooling fan never came on. Doesn't overheat while driving on the highway. The only leak that I've had was the cap on the coolant bottle when it overheated. My A/C isnt working at the moment. A/C clutch coil it burned out. Replacing it next week.
How long has your 2004 Mini Cooper had this problem?
A couple days
IF overheating is occurring - recommend professional scan test. Pro quality scanner is invaluable! ..... Yes even for an inop. cooling fan concern. Good luck!
