Car seems to handle and drive fine. The idle seems to fluctuate a bit sometimes sounds a bit slow that’s about all. Had a mechanic look at it said he couldn’t find anything wrong cleared the engine code came back a day later

Possible failed fuse - under hood fuse box .. Open circuit to downstream 02 sensor .. Failed downstream 02 sensor. (Downstream sensor is AFTER / REARWARD of the catalytic converter) 02 sensor HEATER CIRCUIT should be tested before sensor replacement. Good luck!
It is likely replacement of the sensor will correct this problem but there are no guarantees without proper *hands-on* testing!
I had the same thing with my 2014 Buick Verano and took it to a repair shop. The guys replaced it and the check engine light came back on 4 blocks away. I went back on they said if the 02 sensor didnt fix the problem that it must be the Catalytic Converter (even though Im not having any issues that are typical of a bad Cat) and gave me an estimate of 2k. Im not putting that much into it so I have to drive around with a check engine light on and I cant auto start my car.
