Can the Parking brake cause ABS light to come on?

What is your question?

I just got this used SUV and the parking brake had been not working at all. The pedal release bracket is not on and cable is cut. Thinking it is reasonable explanation for the ABS warning light to stay on.

What makes this problem better or worse?

Nothing makes it to go off due to not able to use brake

How long has your 2001 Chevrolet Blazer had this problem?

Parking brake is not relative to ABS.. Professional scan test of ABS module will be required - likely one of the wheel speed sensors has failed - impossible to guess which one!

The parking brake assembly use be working properly for Virginia safety inspection approval.
