I had my catalytic converter, intake boot replaced on my 2012 Nissan Sentra. When they did the diagnostic test they told me that the catalytic converter, intake boot, and the air fuel sensor have to be replaced. I did everything except for the air fuel sensor. Does this need to be replaced? After they repair the other two mechanical problems, the check engine light went off and has not come back on. I do not want it to cause any more problems so if I have to repair the air fuel sensor I will, I just don't know if I need you. Please give me some advice.

There must have been a reason to suggest AF sensor replacement - perhaps scan tool readings after other repairs were completed. Recommend addressing the mechanic that was involved in the repair - AF sensor might have been suggested when it was actually to be O2 sensor in question - we have no idea without input from the technician or actual code numbers. Seems to me is was a successful diagnosis and repair by the repair facility.
Hello, sounds like it was a case of "replace everything", instead of drilling down to what needed to be replaced. The good news is: the catalytic converter was likely condemned due to an "inefficiency" code that was likely accurate. The intake boot was probably visibly cracked and could cause a "lean" code for fuel control that could also seem like a possible air fuel sensor issue. Since the check engine light has not come back on -- I'd say you're in good shape. If the light should come on, approach it as a new concern and have it evaluated independently to what was previously suggested. I would not replace anything further at this time.
