Does it scrape/grind going into 1st???... Not the synchronizer's job to hold it in gear!!!! Only way to figure cost is with tear down and inspection....

No scraping. Must be flywheel. Something is worn as it does not hold in 1st gear. As soon as I ease off clutch and depress accelerator, it pops out of first gear.
