Probably misread the code. Thanks for your quick response! It ran good all day. Went to start it and it had a hard time turning over. Shut the key off and retried. Started right up BUT I had like zero power. RPM's only got to 2,ooo and I could hear the engine winding up. Limped home. When I put it in park it kind of jerked. Reset the code and it ran perfectly, had my power back! My concern is it had been parked for a couple of hrs and had cooled down somewhat. I was told it might be the coil pack but I know zero about cars! This was all done by a friend so I want to make sure as I can't afford to just throw $$ at it! Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
Presume you have a 3.5L v-6? IF you only have a single cylinder misfire , then swap coils (label first) between the suspected bad cylinder and one that is not setting a misfire code and see if the misfire follows the coil . IF it does , that coil is bad , if it doesn't , pull the misfiring spark plug and inspect. If it's fouled , further more detailed diagnostics may be needed.
Thanks for your quick response. Yes it is a 3.5. I will have my son-in-law try this. Hopefully it is a simple fix. I will get back to you as soon as he gets to it. Might be later this week but I will. I appreciate all your help!
