Take your vehicle to your local dealership. Have your front suspension inspected for worn or damaged Ball joints. If your vehicle is a 4X4 built on or prior to Dec 31, 2002, , there was a safety recall D47 pertaining to replacing ball joints. If your vehicle is a 4X2 there is a Technical Service Bulletin 02-010-04 pertaining to extended warranty on upper ball joints. A seriously worn ball joint may cause a “clunking†noise to develop in the front suspension. However, vehicle occupants may not always hear this “clunking†noise. Losing control of the vehicle could result in a crash.
