Check engine light stays on--new radiator, intake gaskets, replaced #4 and #6 spark plugs (code reader said they were bad?), distributor cap. Compression's at 80 but should be 120. Won't pass smog. Help!

Code reader mearly received the stored trouble codes from the ECM which probably were PO304 & PO306 .. It did NOT indicate or "say" anything needed to be replaced! .. Considering compression should be around 160 psi and IF cylinders 4 & 6 are indeed low > 80 psi which is 1/2 on both of those cylinders .. It's very possible a failed head gasket 'between' # 4 and # 6 cylinders is the culprit .. (They are side by side) .. Suggest more in depth testing to confirm... Cylinder leak down test recommended.
Thank you for your quick response! I am not familiar with cars at all, but according to the invoice from the mechanic he just replaced the intake gaskets so if it was a failed head gasket then that should have taken care of the problem, right? Even after the work my light is still on and the compression test came back with low numbers. I will call him back and ask for a cylinder leak down test. I was also told by another mechanic that I could possibly try the product Restore to try to help me pass the smog until I can get enough money to actually have my car fixed. Do you know anything about that product? Thanks for your help :)
Intake gaskets and head gaskets are entirely different parts .. Engine will not run at all on 80 psi compression .. Need compression readings for EACH cylinder .. Additives claim to do a bunch of stuff, I've never had much luck with such.
Thanks for all of your help. I will take my car back to mechanic and ask for a cylinder leak down test.
Let us know how it turns out... Good luck with it!
Thank you for your help!
