I have a 1994 Geo Prizm LSI, I bought it at a used car lot 2 years ago. Since, I've had the car I've never had any problems with it. It runs great and all I've had to do is typical maintanence like oil changes, check fluids, brakes. Just last week I decided I would give my car a basic tune-up and to replace the battery. I put the new battery in and my dad began the tune-up. To get to the cap and rotor he had to disconnect the air filter censor and unplug two cables from the top of the distributor. He took the old cap and rotor off, put the news ones on (bolted them) and reconnected the cables and censor. We started up the car, it started up perfectly. A few hours later we had to go somewhere and half way down the street my check engine light came on. Over the past couple of days my check engine light will go on and then off. Today I took it to the shop and on the way there the engine light never came on, unfortunately this particular shop could not do a diagnostics on my car so I had to drive it to a new shop. On the way to this other shop the engine light never came on, I passed the shop up and had to turn it around and on my way back around the car died on me...I had to coast it into the parking light of this shop. I told the shop everything that happened and they're going to service my car. Before I left I decided to see if the car started, and it started right up, no problems. I don't know what's wrong with my car. I am dying over here. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Sounds like whatever was unplugged and replugged in dosen't have a good connection now, have your dad unplug and clean the terminals on whatever he worked on
