What is your question?

I have the 2.4 L engine with automatic transmission. Car makes whining sound, mainly under acceleration. It sounds like it is from the back of the engine compartment, not by the serpentine belt. When idling it is more like a chirping sound with 3-5 second breaks in between each one. So that might be what I am hearing under acceleration and it just sounds constant due to increased rpms.

What makes this problem better or worse?

A month. Progressively worse.
