What is your question?
Can Idol or putt around town all day without overheating. Runs great until your on the highway for about 25 min. Then it overheats. Block test negative, new clutch fan, water pump, electrical fans, radiator flush and hoses. No smoke, runs great!! For awhile lol. After it overheats you can turn it off and back on, then it is ok for awhile. HELP!!! THANKS!!!

A new radiator cap may be your answer, if recently replaced, I'd check radiator for internal blockage.
Restricted rad does come to mind but may need to do the combustion leak test again but at 2,000 RPM.. Just to be sure! Most are performed @ idle..I have had them pass @ idle & fail @ higher revs,, just saying!!
AGREE WITH#1 POSS RAD BLOCKAGE. IS ELECTRIC FAN COMING ON AT APPROX 220 DEGREES?
The electric fan does come on, now. It has been replaced. I am sure my son did the block test at high rpm's but I will double check with him. Thanks!
Somewhere within these answers is the solution to the problem!!! No other options avail...GOOD luck with the fix!
I certainly hope so! Tried to think of everything. It is a nice vehicle, a lot of new parts, only 90k miles and runs great. Thanks to you all!
Thanks. We have a new radiator cap. We had the radiator flushed. All those new parts. Our next step was to replace the radiator. In all my day I have seen blown head gaskets, cars that overheated for various reasons but nothing as crazy as this. It runs great and it is very frustrating to think it is fixed just to have it overheat a half hour later. Thanks for the validation.
Also , if you here a sloshing noise in the heater core, it's possible to have an air pocket in the motor, sometimes they are difficult to get out , and it will cause this as well.
Agree with new radiator.
Thanks! We do not here the sloshing from the heater core. Appreciate your brainstorming with me. Wanted to see if I was not thinking of something as I try to think of everything. Will let you all know what happens after we change the radiator. Hopefully that will be the end of it! Thanks Again! Have a Great Evening!
