What is your question?
Good morning! My daughter's 2004 Mustang V6 AC/Heater blower is not pushing air at all. I've tried all four settings plus; cold, hot & AC. No air and no noise from the blower. In another thread, I read about checking fuses F2-24 & F2-33. They are both fine. Can't find the single fusebox on the passenger side, near the strut (but I'm not sure it applies here anyway). We live in the South and it's still hot. She's a college student and I'm retired due to physical problems --and we have very little extra cash. So, any help with diagnosis & repair would be appreciated. I am not very mechanically inclined. However, I do have an OBDII reader if I need to check codes. I also have a Radio Shack 22-178 multi-meter, but I have no idea how to use it (settings, nothing). Therefore, I would need simpleton instructions -- how to set the multi-meter first -- if you want me to check current to wires. Thank you in advance to anyone who will assist us.
Thank you. I read over that thread before posting. And, checked the fuses. The thing is... I don't know how to check the wires...nor where to find them. I'll give it a try, though. Also, my daughter called otw to work & classes yesterday right after I posted. She said she went over railroad tracks and the fan came back on -- full AC & all. It was also working when she came home from classes yesterday. Sounds like it actually might be an intermittent problem. If you have any further advice, for checking intermittent issues, I would appreciate it. Thanks again!
The next time the blower stops working, tap on the blower motor with 'tool' to see if it responds .. IF it does - REPLACE blower motor assembly!
So, it's been almost 9 months. The fan worked until one day last week. Died again -- same symptoms. I just checked the fuses and connections again. All are fine. This time, I decided to whack the blower motor with the hilt of my palm. Guess what?!? The motor came back on and is working again. Do I still replace the blower motor assembly or see if it runs another 9 months without issue? She'll probably sell the car before next summer. Thanks for your advice!
Ride it and see how long it lasts.. I wouldn't worry about it since you can get it working with such little effort .. Now if it gets to be a 'constant problem' - that's another matter.
Thank you pushrod. I think that's what we'll do!
