I turn on the a/c and I am able to hear and see the compressor start but no air is released at all
How long has your 2006 Ford F-150 had this problem?

It's the blower motor's job to blow air in the cabin. You are going to want to start by checking for power at the blower motor and performing a visual inspection on the blower to make sure it's not frozen. A good start for a skilled DIYer is TESTING all of the fuses .. IF no problem there - it needs professional *hands-on* testing.
