What is your question?
is this a condition that can be repaired without replacement? is the odometer cable operated or electronically run? (could it be as simple as a loose wire?)

yours is different than mine is.mine is digital, and yours in analog,if i remember correctky.i did have a problem with mine also, but it is the famous ford odometer blackout problem.the miles just go away,if you slap the fire out of your dash,it might come back on.i didnt lose any miles, because the pcm keeps up with them.i fixed it,cold ,cracked solder jont.i think yours has 2 little motors in the cluster.1 for speedo and 1 for odometer.i think the little plastic gear strips, and they quit.try going to youtube, maybe a video on how to fix.good luck.
Thank you for your answer. i've tried beating the dash to no effect, i suspect you are correct about the stripped gear(s), or possibly the motor has smoked. would not be surprised as a series of idiots has been at the wiring on this truck in the past. seems it might be more cost effective for me to find a working salvage/used replacement from what i'm seeing so far. other fish to fry first tho. thanks again for taking the time to answer this.
there are a few on e-bay,one looks brand new.just a thought.i order everything from e-bay.hey its all aftermarket anyway.not talking about your cluster.whether you get from,az,napa, adv, orly or e-bay.only difference is autoparts houses are 400% mark up.example, fuel pump,$100.00 from az,adv,orly,napa.e-bay,same part number kit,$28.49 free shipping,no tax, with warranty.research is the key.there is a video on youtube that shows how to fix yours.good luck.
