What is your question?
This has happened twice no codes and starts right back up
What makes this problem better or worse?
Intermittent engine dies
How long has your 2002 Subaru Outback had this problem?
Twice in the last 2 months

Intermittent failures are impossible to diagnose without some avenue of information - stored trouble codes - engine stalls and will NOT re-start. Sorry but that's just how it is. Good luck!
I would have the throttle valve cleaned completely and drive vehicle to observe results!
That is ‘one’ of many possibilities - however it’s going to take a good while before the “results” can be observed : [ How long have you had this problem? “Twice in the last 2 months” ]
Possibly, but I like to do this as follows: Disconnect sensor from intake hose..(so vrhicle doesnt stall during procedure. Then spray a particular product through intake after a static cleaning of the valve. Keep engine around 2K rpm, and spray so intake stream will clean off most of the inside of hose including the exposed Map or Mas sensor. I use a product that will not harm sensors. VG results. Some cases have to clear a code following procedure. But results generally immediate.
Do not relay on guesses you are bound to receive - that is simply wasted time and money!
