The wrench light indicates that the computer has an input problem typically with the elecronic throttle body, but also some faulty sensors. The first thing to check is the air filter box to see that it is securely fastened. An air filter box the the tabs are not inserted into the attaching holes at the bottom can potentially cause this conern. Also inspect the hold down clips to see that they are fastened.

Sounds like a common problem, sometimes when an air filter is replaced either the MAF sensor or IAT sensor can come unplugged, Both of these can affect the fuel and throttle response. I would check for any stray plugs or wire connections that are just hanging around the air tube and or the filter box.
