Won't start or turn over

when the battery light comes on,usually it means that the alternator has failed or the drive belt has broken and no longer maintaining the charge to the battery,therefore you are running straight from the battery until it discharges,then all warning lights come on,headlights dim,radio not working,A/C,etc are not getting enough power to continue to run the vehicle and it finally stalls and normally a discharged battery won't jump start.raise the hood,see if the belt is still around all the pulleys,if it is take the alternator off and the battery out and take both to a parts store and have them tested.
