Q: Window malfunction on 1999 Mercedes-Benz CL500

Rear left window does not close completley when closing the drivers door. I understand this could be some type of controller and if so how difficult would it be to replace.

Hi there, unfortunately I am having the same issue on my 2002 CL. I am no mechanic but am inclined somewhat and have dealt with Mercedes on a regular basis for many years. Anyways, my rear window is doing the same thing, what I did was disconnect the negative side of the battery for about 5 minutes, put it back and my windows worked properly again for about a day. Now they both do not roll down manually with either switches but they do close when the doors are fully closed. Must be something that shorts them out momentarily or something but not sure yet. I Have an awesome Benz mechanic and he will be looking into this issue for me within a couple of days and I can give you the status if you like. But try the battery disconnect first and this may cure YOUR problem.
