Why won't my 03 Saturn ion start up after I've changed the starter

I have a 03 Saturn ion that won't start but it clicks.i've changed the starter out, connected everything back, went to start the car and still the same click...even when I put jumper cables on it with the new starter still nothing but a click. what could be the problem? This literally happen out of nowhere no warnings no stalling before today...car even ran fine yesterday
What makes this problem better or worse?
It just all of sudden happened no warnings
