What is your question?
My back window will not defrost quickly. It takes forever for it to work. This is important because I live in Illinois. I need to see out all of windows especially in the winter when it won't defrost in a timely manner. It does defrost but it takes a long time to do so. Our winters are bad with snow and ice and very cold temps every day. The heater heats up quick, but the back defroster takes forever to work. Why. Other than that my car runs great.
What makes this problem better or worse?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Beetle. It sounds like your rear defroster is working, but it is taking longer than expected. There could be a couple of reasons for this. Over time, the defroster grid lines on the window might have worn down or become damaged, reducing their efficiency. You can inspect the grid lines to see if any are visibly broken or scratched. Another possibility is that the electrical connection to the defroster is loose or corroded, which can lead to slower heating. If you feel like it's becoming a more significant issue, I suggest having a technician check the defroster wiring and connections to ensure everything works properly.
