Why will the audio for my radio only work in park and neutral

Hello, Very strange. When you put it in drive or reverse, the doors also lock, and that is actuated by the gear selector (basically). I wonder, if you unlock the doors after they lock, does the audio work again. What if you leave the driver door open and put it in drive (foot on brake + park brake)? There are a couple possibilities, and they range from the circuit for the shifter, to the wiring going into the drivers door, to one of two control modules. You will need a technician with a professional scan tool to figure out, or you will need to start following wires. The later is not too fun, but if you have some experience with electrical systems, you can probably find where the signals are crossed.
