What is your question?
The car is moist on windows every day. I have to clean the inside windows whenever I get ready to go. If I am in a place to long, dew is on windows. My trunk is all wet. When I opened the trunk under carpet it had about 1/2 of water. Everything in my trunk was wet. The seal around the windows are all cracked and I can feel cold air on the back of my neck. I never had this problem before 3 weeks ago. Please help. My car smells like mildew since this problem occured. Do you think this is something that can be fixed? If so, what kind of mechanic should I get. Should I vacuum the car to try and get the water out? Should I take it to the car wash since the window seals are cracked? I need to shampoo my carpet or wait to see what is going on. This is all the information that I can tell you.

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! It sounds like you’ve got a classic case of water intrusion, and it’s no fun when your car feels like a swamp. Given the cracked seals and the moisture buildup, here’s what you can do: First, it’s crucial to pinpoint where the water is coming from. The cracked window seals are likely letting water in, which could explain the puddles in your trunk and on the floors. A good place to start is to replace those seals. You can check with a mechanic specializing in weatherstripping or auto body work. As for the water already in the car, vacuuming is a good first step to remove standing water, but you’ll want to dry out the carpets thoroughly to prevent mildew. A good shampoo might be worth it once you resolve the leak, but let that moisture escape first! Taking it to a car wash with a pressure wash may help clean the exterior, but avoid high-pressure water on the seals until they're fixed. You might also want to consider a professional detailer to handle the mildew and deep cleaning.
