Batteries are good and the remote does all the other functions. Could this be a fuse?
How long has your 2008 Honda Accord had this problem?

Check fuse 25 (10amp) in the fuse box in the cabin on the drivers side. There should also be a relay in the same box that should "click" when the trunk release is activated. That relay then sends 12 volts on the orange wire to the trunk release solenoid in the trunk.
