Why does the radio not work no more after i change the car battery to a new one.

So on Saturday I change the battery on my 2003 ford explored and when I change it the car alarm went on and then I put the key in the car and after that the radio did not work no more and that is want I just want to know why did that happen like did I do something wrong and i have never had that problem.
What makes this problem better or worse?
I just cant hear anything

Hello, is there a chance the battery cables got inadvertently reversed -- crossed -- causing a short? Check for blown fuses.
