The check gauges indicator suggests that maybe something is malfunctioning related to gauge operation or the components that feed information to the gauges. For example, if you have an actual oil pressure issue from the engine causing gauge fluctuation, the warning light will come on. If the sending unit is a concern, this can cause the light as well. And if the gauge or printed circuit or the wiring is a concern -- same thing. Testing is required to find out what is causing the warning light to come on, and also possibly if the oil pressure concern is a separate concern this may need to be separately looked into.
Do you suppose it could be a fuse under the hood?
No, it is not going to be a fuse issue.
