Why does my speedo read 5 mph faster than actual speed?

2010 dodge journey, speedo is 5mph faster than actual speed. Stock wheels, and tire size. No modifications, completely stock. Speedo reads 35mph when in reality when checked against a gps speedometer the vehicle is going 30mph. Can I reset the speedo?

The speedometer head could be in question. The speed sensor could be also. Hands on testing is needed. You dispel concerns about wheels and tires -- and no modifications (transmission and so on). No transmission repairs in the past either? www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
