What is your question?
My brother's Acura just started smoking and overheating. It still starts but it just runs hot.
What makes this problem better or worse?
I did add some antifreeze and a quart of oil. It's not smoking. But it's getting hot.
How long has your 2004 Acura MDX had this problem?
Few days.

Hello, the good news is that there is not a predisposition for internal engine damage on these vehicles due to overheating. Of course, anything is possible if extreme overheating occurs. Diagnostic testing of the cooling system is needed -- from the engine cooling fans, thermostat, water pump and coolant flow evaluation. Checking for any air pockets if components have recently been replaced. What is your determining factor that shows it is getting hot?
