it doesn't do this all the time but has happened on the freeway,on the right front and rear will get hot and start smoking and gets very hot. are they sticking/

Something is sticking. This could be a bad caliper, frozen pins, a collapsed hose and a few other things. I would start with a complete inspection of all sliding pins and hardware.
