What is your question?
I rapidly accelerated to pass a car and my check engine light blinked but then went off after a few seconds. The issue did not repeat. What is a possible cause of this?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. When your check engine light flashes, it is an indication of a misfire that may cause damage to your catalytic converter. A misfire occurs when one or more of the engine's cylinders fail to ignite the air-fuel mixture properly. Several factors, such as a faulty spark plug, ignition coil, or fuel injector can cause this. Since the light stopped blinking and hasn't come back on, it might have been a brief issue, but it's worth monitoring. If the problem doesn't repeat, it may have been a minor glitch. However, if it happens again, having your vehicle checked out is a good idea. A diagnostic scan can help identify any stored trouble codes, even if the check engine light isn't currently on. This will provide more insight into what might have caused the misfire.
